Stampli in brief

Stampli publishes no prices.

Price
None, quote only · Quote-based custom contract, two packages
Best for
Mid-market AP teams replacing email-based invoice approval
Watch out for
You give up spend management breadth, and the gap is structural rather than a roadmap item.

The short answer

Buy Stampli if your invoices still move through email threads, spreadsheets and chat messages, and the thing holding up your close is a department head who has not replied. Buy it too if you have an ERP you have no intention of replacing, because Stampli sits in front of the general ledger rather than trying to be one, and because the AP package includes unlimited entities, locations and vendors.

Skip it if your CFO wants one platform for AP, corporate cards and employee expenses, because Stampli is an AP product and those gaps are structural. Skip it too if you pay a large international payee base, since payment execution sits in the Beyond Accounts Payable package and international wires need extra configuration. And skip it if you need a price before a sales call.

Where Stampli fits

Stampli is built on a specific diagnosis: the reason invoices sit for three weeks is usually communication, not data entry. So the product puts the conversation on the invoice itself. The approver, the AP clerk and the budget owner all comment on the same record, so questions that used to live in a forwarded email thread live where the audit trail is. If you can describe your AP problem as "nobody knows whose desk this is on", you are the buyer this was designed for.

The second thing that decides fit is that Stampli does not want to be your ledger. It integrates with more than seventy ERP and accounting systems by its own count, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365, QuickBooks Online, SAP Business One, Oracle and Acumatica, and the integration is designed to preserve your existing chart of accounts, vendor master and coding workflow. That is a different posture from platforms that expect you to run GL functions inside the AP tool, and for a controller who has survived one ERP migration it is often the whole argument.

Multi-entity is included rather than gated, and that is unusual enough to drive the shortlist. The AP package lists unlimited entities, locations and vendors, so adding a subsidiary or onboarding a batch of suppliers should not by itself move the price. Compare the common pattern in this category, where multi-entity accounting sits in an unpublished enterprise tier and the sales conversation restarts the moment you acquire something. If you have grown by acquisition and run discrete AP workflows per entity, Stampli's packaging is on your side.

The AI layer is the operational payoff and it has a warm-up period. Stampli's model learns from your own invoice history rather than applying generic rules, so it starts to predict which cost centre applies to which vendor and which approver handles which expense type. The first sixty to ninety days of live running are when it gets useful, so a two-week pilot will understate the product and an annual contract is partly a bet on that curve.

Where Stampli stops is the edge of accounts payable. There are no corporate cards, no employee expense management and no full procure-to-pay in the sense a spend management platform means it. Procurement and purchase orders, Stampli Direct Pay and Stampli Credit Card all live in the Beyond Accounts Payable package, so the broader spend story is a second commercial conversation rather than a feature you grow into. A team briefed to consolidate should price both packages. A team briefed to fix AP should treat the focus as the point.

Stampli pricing

Stampli publishes no prices. Checked on 25 September 2026, the pricing page lists two packages, Stampli for Accounts Payable and Stampli Beyond Accounts Payable, with a Request a Quote form in place of any figure. There is no list price, no starting price and no published per-user or per-invoice rate, so every number in your business case comes from a sales conversation. The useful work, then, is not estimating the price. It is working out what the quote is a function of, because the obvious candidates have been ruled out.

Four things to pin down, starting with the one Stampli's own packaging makes mysterious.

  1. The pricing metric, which is the first question to ask and the one most buyers forget. The AP package includes unlimited entities, locations and vendors, so the quote is not driven by the things finance teams usually assume. Something else sets it. Get the metric named explicitly, get the tier boundaries written into the order form, and ask what happens when you cross one mid-term.
  2. Which of the two packages you are buying. Stampli for Accounts Payable covers invoice capture, AI-assisted coding and routing, collaborative approval, ERP sync and vendor management. Beyond Accounts Payable adds procurement and purchase orders, Stampli Direct Pay, Stampli Credit Card and advanced vendor management. Ask for both priced separately rather than as a bundle, so you can see what the procurement and payments layer costs on its own.
  3. How automated your PO matching needs to be. Two-way and three-way PO matching is included in the AP package in semi-automated form. Full automation of that matching by Stampli's AI is listed as available on top. If you match most invoices against purchase orders, that is the difference between checking every match and checking exceptions, so confirm in writing whether the automated version carries a separate fee.
  4. Your ERP, because integration depth is not uniform and the awkward cases cost more. NetSuite and Sage Intacct are Stampli's strongest connectors, with PO matching, multi-entity sync and real-time GL coding validation, and QuickBooks is solid at the smaller end. If your system of record is not on the standard list, Stampli has built custom integrations, but the timeline and the cost both go up, and that belongs in the quote rather than a later change order.

What costs extra

  • Full automation of two-way and three-way PO matching by Stampli's AI, listed as available on top of the semi-automated matching included in the AP package.
  • Procurement and purchase orders, Stampli Direct Pay, Stampli Credit Card and advanced vendor management, all of which arrive with the Beyond Accounts Payable package rather than the AP one.
  • Payment execution fees if you pay vendors through Direct Pay or cards. Ask for the payment fees and any card rebate rates alongside the software quote, because a rebate can change the shape of the whole comparison.

Implementation and commercial terms

The rows below are what Stampli's own pricing page confirms as of 25 September 2026. The page is generous about what the AP package includes and silent about what any of it costs, so read the absences as questions for sales rather than as reassurance.

Published price
None. Two packages and a Request a Quote form.
Packages
Stampli for Accounts Payable and Stampli Beyond Accounts Payable.
Entities, locations and vendors
Unlimited in the AP package.
Implementation fee
None published. Onboarding and team training are listed in the AP package.
Support model
A dedicated customer success manager is listed in the AP package.
Free trial
No free trial is listed on the pricing page.

Budget Stampli as a quote you have to interrogate rather than a price you can look up. Ask for both packages priced separately, ask which metric the number is based on, and ask whether that metric resets at renewal. Then price the two things outside the software line: automated PO matching, and payment fees and card rebates if you intend to pay through Stampli. Because nothing is published, the only honest comparison is against a vendor that does publish, so put BILL's list prices next to your Stampli quote and make Stampli justify the difference out loud. A quote-only vendor is not automatically dearer, but it is harder to check, and you pay for that in evaluation time.

What Stampli gives up

You give up spend management breadth, and the gap is structural rather than a roadmap item. Stampli has no corporate cards and no employee expense management in the AP package, so if your CFO's brief is one platform for invoices, cards and reimbursements, this is not it. Direct Pay and Stampli Credit Card exist in the Beyond Accounts Payable package, which means a second commercial conversation and a second price. For a team where AP is the acute pain and cards are handled elsewhere, that focus is the reason to buy. For a team retiring three tools, it is the reason not to.

You give up the ability to sanity-check the quote against anything. With no published figure at all, you cannot tell whether the number you receive is the standard one, whether a comparable company paid less, or whether your renewal uplift is reasonable. The remedy is to run a competitive process and let two quotes discipline each other, which is more work than reading a price page and is the real cost of quote-only pricing. Ask for multi-year discount terms and exit terms at the same time, since the discount is easier to win before you are a reference customer.

You give up a fast verdict, because the product gets better after you have committed. The AI model learns from your invoice volume over its first sixty to ninety days of live running, so the version you evaluate is deliberately the worst version you will use. That is honest and it is also awkward: a short pilot measures the cold model, and the warm model is what you are buying. If you can negotiate anything, negotiate a review point far enough out that the curve has happened, rather than a longer trial that will not change what you learn.

You give up effortless vendor adoption. The most common day-two friction is getting vendors to submit invoices through Stampli's portal instead of emailing PDFs to whoever they emailed last year, and that takes active outreach in the first couple of months. Stampli provides templates for the communication, which is useful and is not the same as doing it. Until a decent share of your suppliers have switched, your AP team runs two intake paths and the efficiency case is only partly in force.

You give up payment depth if your payables cross borders. Payment execution lives in the Beyond Accounts Payable package through Direct Pay, and international wire payments need additional configuration on top of that. A company paying suppliers in several currencies is describing a different product's core use case, not an edge case of this one, and should compare Tipalti first.

How Stampli compares

The first useful cut in AP automation is pricing transparency, because it decides how much of your evaluation is modelling and how much is negotiation. BILL publishes full per-user rates, Tipalti publishes starting platform fees, and Stampli and Airbase publish nothing at all. Every price below comes from that vendor's own pricing page, checked on 25 September 2026, and anything unpublished is recorded as unpublished rather than estimated.

ToolBest forPriceWhere it breaks
StampliInvoice approval bottlenecks where the ERP stays the system of record and entities are unlimitedNot published, quote onlyNo corporate cards or employee expenses, and payments sit in the second package
BILLQuickBooks and Xero teams who want AP live in days against a published price$49, $65 or $89 per user/monthEvery approver costs a full seat below the top tier, and multi-entity accounting is unpublished
TipaltiHigh-volume and cross-border payouts with unlimited users and payee tax complianceFrom $99/month (AP), from $249/month (Mass Payments)Per-invoice and per-payment fees are not published, so the real bill cannot be modelled

What to test in a Stampli demo

No free trial is listed, so this is a demo and a scoped proof of concept rather than a self-serve pilot. Because there is no published price either, the demo has two jobs: prove the workflow and extract the commercial terms. Treat the second as equally important.

  1. Bring your three worst invoices, not your cleanest. A partial delivery, a price variance against a purchase order and a vendor who bills in an unhelpful format will tell you more in twenty minutes than a scripted capture demo will in an hour. Semi-automated two-way and three-way matching is what the AP package includes, so watch how much a human still does on each.
  2. Rebuild the approval chain that stalls. Pick the department head whose silence delays your close, model their real routing, and test what the collaborative invoice thread does when they go quiet for a week. Escalation and reassignment is the mechanism you are buying, so make the demo show it failing gracefully rather than succeeding on the happy path.
  3. Connect the ERP you run, with your own chart of accounts and vendor master. NetSuite and Sage Intacct are the strongest connectors and QuickBooks is solid at the smaller end, so if you are on something else this is where you learn what custom work you are commissioning. Raise invoices in Stampli and verify the resulting GL entries in the ERP yourself.
  4. Get the pricing metric named, in writing, in the first or second call. Entities, locations and vendors are unlimited, so ask what the quote is a function of, where the tier boundaries sit, and what happens when you cross one. Then ask for Stampli for Accounts Payable and Stampli Beyond Accounts Payable priced as separate lines.
  5. Price the two likely extras before you sign. Confirm whether fully automated PO matching carries a fee on top of the included semi-automated version, and if you intend to pay vendors through Direct Pay or cards, get the payment fees and any card rebate rate alongside the software number. Ask for implementation fee structure, exit terms and data export rights for the invoice archive and vendor master at the same time.

Frequently asked questions about Stampli

Does Stampli integrate with NetSuite?

Yes. Stampli's NetSuite integration is one of its strongest, supporting two-way sync for vendor master, chart of accounts, purchase orders, GL coding, and payment status. The integration uses NetSuite's native API and handles multi-subsidiary environments. Setup typically takes 1 to 3 weeks during implementation, depending on the complexity of your NetSuite configuration.

How much does Stampli cost?

Stampli publishes no prices, checked 25 September 2026. Its pricing page shows two packages, Stampli for Accounts Payable and Stampli Beyond Accounts Payable, behind a Request a Quote form. Entities, locations and vendors are unlimited on the AP package, so ask sales which metric the quote uses, and price both packages so you can see what procurement and payments add.

How long does Stampli implementation take?

A standard mid-market implementation (one ERP, one entity, existing vendor data) typically takes 2 to 6 weeks. Multi-entity or complex ERP environments extend the timeline to 6 to 12 weeks. Stampli provides an onboarding team. The finance team's primary tasks are ERP credential setup, chart of accounts mapping, approval workflow configuration, and vendor communication.

What is Billy the Bot and how does it work?

Billy the Bot is Stampli's AI engine for invoice processing. It learns each customer's AP patterns (vendor coding preferences, approver assignments, GL mapping) and uses that data to pre-populate invoice fields and route invoices automatically. Accuracy improves over time as the model processes more invoices. Most customers see meaningful automation gains within 60 to 90 days of go-live.

Does Stampli handle payments?

Yes, but payment execution is an add-on module called Stampli Direct Pay. It supports ACH, paper checks, and virtual cards. The base platform handles invoice approval workflows and syncs approved invoices to the ERP for payment, but if you want to execute payments from within Stampli rather than from the ERP, you need Direct Pay. Ask your sales rep about Direct Pay pricing.

Is Stampli a good fit for multi-entity companies?

Yes, with some nuance. Stampli supports multi-entity AP workflows (separate approval rules, coding templates, and entity-level segmentation) at mid-market price points. It is a good fit for companies with 2 to 10 entities that share common ERP infrastructure. For complex intercompany transaction handling or consolidation workflows, you will need to verify that Stampli's entity model aligns with your specific structure during the sales evaluation.

How does Stampli compare to Tipalti?

Stampli is better suited for domestic mid-market AP automation with strong ERP integration. Tipalti is stronger for global supplier payments, 1099/W-8 tax compliance, and high-volume multi-currency payables. If your AP includes significant international supplier base or complex tax withholding requirements, Tipalti is the better fit. If your AP is primarily domestic with a heavy ERP integration dependency, Stampli is the more practical choice.

Does Stampli offer a free trial?

Stampli does not offer a self-serve free trial. The evaluation process starts with a demo and then a scoped implementation trial for qualified prospects. The lack of self-serve access means you need to engage with sales before seeing the product live, which adds some evaluation friction for teams that prefer to explore tools independently.

What ERP systems does Stampli support?

Stampli integrates with 70+ ERP and accounting systems, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP Business One, Oracle ERP Cloud, Acumatica, Xero, Blackbaud Financial Edge, and others. Integration depth varies; NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and Dynamics 365 are the most feature-complete.

Is Stampli SOC 2 compliant?

Yes. Stampli is SOC 2 Type II certified. The platform includes role-based access controls, segregation of duties enforcement, and complete invoice audit trails: relevant for companies with internal controls requirements or external audit obligations. For regulated industries, verify that Stampli's access control model maps to your specific compliance framework during the sales evaluation.
